July 10: Lady Alma and Vertical Current

We had such a great time presenting Lady Alma in 2024 that we’re bringing her and her band Vertical Current back for a second year! The Philly songstress has made a worldwide name for herself with her eclectic and uplifting musical repertoire. Lady Alma is known for a range of uniquely inspirational jams, and her fans recognize not only the magic of her skillful vocal arches, but also her amazing songs and motivating messages.

August 21: Catbite

We’re closing out the Summer Series with neo two-tone ska band Catbite! Formed in Philadelphia in May of 2018, Catbite is influenced by the jolting energy of the Specials, the Selector’s edged lyrics, and Elvis Costello‘s love of melody, the group cranks out short, catchy tunes that usually have a deeper meaning… and sometimes don’t. The band’s debut self-titled LP was released in 2019 on Bad Time Records and has sold out of several pressings. The highly anticipated Sophomore album, “Nice One,” also on Bad Time Records, was released on August 6, 2021 and was accompanied with a sold-out hometown show. Nice One includes hits like “Call Your Bluff,” “Excuse Me Miss,” and the soulful rocksteady tune, “Bad Influence.”

Thank you to our 2025 University City Summer Series sponsors!
